Letter from my Son
Hi mama,
It's been 365 days since you brought me into this world. Today is a celebration for you too. One year of being my mama.
When I first laid my head on your chest, I felt your heart beating so fast. As your heartbeat softened, you gently played with my hair and caressed my left cheek.
I felt your anxiousness throughout those days in that room, I heard you fighting for me when I couldn't speak for myself. You knew I was strong enough to make it out in the big world.
Thank you for being my voice mama, I love you.
From the outside, I know that all of the attention is on me but I want you to know that I see you.
The beginning was tough, but I want you to know that you made it look so effortless.
You struggled with feeding, but I want you to know that you gave me just what I needed.
At times you doubted your abilities and questioned whether you were doing enough, but I want you to know that you are my everything.
I heard you cry many times while holding me mama. I felt your tears fall on my cheeks right before you wiped them away.
Please don't cry mama. We're gonna get through this together. You'll see, it gets so much better.
When I'm older, I know I won't remember these early memories with you and papa, but I want you to know that the love and energy you give me will always remain. My heart is so full mama.
You are enough. I love you mama.
Happy birth-day to you too!
